Points Rules
Members can collect Points from any BSPS affiliated show – note RIHS and HOYS qualifiers can be used but only if they are also qualifiers for the BSPS Championships.
1. Overview
You record your own points on the card that can be downloaded below or collected from any 1B show. Plus 3 additional affiliated to the BSPS shows.
Please complete 1 card for each pony/class i.e., if you compete in both nursery and cradle stakes on the same pony you need to keep 2 cards. Also, if you do Open and Novice classes again you need to keep separate cards.
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU ARE DOING ANY LIHS PERFORMANCE CLASSES THEN YOU NEED TO KEEP A SEPARATE CARD FOR EACH CLASS YOU DO

3. How to fill out the points card
- This year, we are moving to an online version, this will hopefully make it easier for you to fill in.
- You will need to complete a form for each class you have competed in on each pony.
- The link can be found below
- 1. One Points Card per Class per pony/rider combination
- 2. Points are only gained on presenting forward and entering the ring to be judged (NP means not placed in that class)
- 3. Points may only be gained in BSPS Affiliated classes only and both Rider and Pony must be registered with the BSPS in that points year. (See www.bsps.com for joining the society). Winter Worker Stakes classes and Summer Training Stakes will combine for one class.
- 4. Points with be awarded for placing 1st to 4th at all shows listed and nominated shows
- 5. Points are awarded as follows 1st=5pts, 2nd=4pts, 3rd=3pts, 4th=2pts, 1 point is awarded for not placed in the class. Where classes are placed to lower than 4th place i.e. 5th & 6th etc, these will be counted as not placed (1pt). Points may be included, for “Winter restricted” placings in the Open classes. Placings are awarded to 4th place at the presentation event, however further placings/Highly Commended rosettes may be awarded to Rider/Pony combinations that have not been awarded a rosette in any other class. The aim it to present a printed rosette to all members that send in a points card.
